Who we are
My name is Trina-Rae (she/her). Most people call me TR. You can too.
I am the owner and operator of Born Under Leo. I have been knitting and sewing since I was a very small girl, taught by my grandmother and my mother. Fibre and textile arts are my passion and making clothing is my favourite way to express myself through art. It is also my preferred meditative tool; it keeps me calm, grounded, and sane. Shopping locally and supporting small, independent, and female- and minority-owned businesses is very important to me. I strongly believe in supporting our neighbours, our communities, and our local businesses. I read a lot, I am an avid fan of words and stories. I also practice yoga and meditation daily, and do my best to walk softly, protect our mother earth, and be kind to all beings.
My mother, Sharon, also creates knit pieces for the store. We get together as often as we can - we sit, we drink tea (or wine), and knit and chat, It's the best.
Born Under Leo refers to my star signs: I have a lot of recurring Leo's in my chart, which is somewhat rare and kind of fascinating.
